About Us In the Beginning: Tyber film’s started its life in London where it gave those over 18 the chance to make films for fun, after moving to the Island, I thought it would be great idea to do the same here, sadly in the early years this was not possible due to circumstances and work commitments, but now it has become possible to try again and I hope I can give likeminded people from 18 to 80 (and older) the opportunity to have some fun. The Equipment: Thankfully due to my past career in films and television I have been able to acquire a lot of my own equipment. Most of it is semi-professional but will do the job capably, all I need are likeminded people, to learn together. The equipment includes, 4K Camcorder, SLR Cameras that can handle 4K video, Go Pro, and DJI Drones (pilot licence is required to fly these). Other equipment includes boom mic’s, separate recorder, various lighting, Track, Jib and stabilization equipment. Postproduction includes the full Adobe Creative Suite and Edius. For music we have our own recording studio which includes Cubase, with other software and hardware equipment, like Native Instruments. The Films: The films will fall under the category of short films, running time 10 to 30 mins (or over) and can be on any subject or genre. Now to upset the younger generation, I come from the old school of film making and love foreign language films, especially Scandinavian and French films, I’m happy to push the boundaries and be non-political coerect (to a point). All films before production will be given a rating, based on the guidelines set down by the BBFC, this will give anyone an idea of the contents of the production. Tyber Films is for any one over the age of 18, who has an interest in film production, no experience in necessary, what we are after is your imagination, if you have an idea, feel free to pitch it. From time to time, you may want to put someone under 18 into a film. We have further restrictions for this, any contact must be done with the parent or guardian first, and script must be approved with the parent or guardian. When the young person is in a rehearsal or on set a parent or guardian must always chaperone and if the chaperone has to leave, the young person must leave with them and the production finished for the day or move onto something else in the script. Tyber films is for fun and must remain fun, filming can also be very boring at times, with re-take after re-take, time spent setting up a shot, poor weather you name it. But in the end the finished film is rewarding, and hopefully will inspire you to do another, maybe better. No matter if its good or bad, our films I doubt will ever become Oscar winners but it’s the taking part for me is the important thing and having a laugh, if you are serious about trying to forge a career in film and television this is also a great place to start and can help build up your show reel. When the production is finished everyone will receive a DVD or Blu-Ray of the film and the film will also be available to view on You Tube. Some of the jobs required when making a film, some of these can be doubled or trebled up.
